Hearing Conservation Training

One of the most common occupational health hazards is noise exposure. When employees are exposed to high levels of noise, it can result in several serious health hazards, including hearing loss. Noise-induced hearing loss is not treatable and can be permanent.

Due to these risks, OSHA requires employees affected by unsafe noise exposures to be enrolled in a Hearing Conservation Program, which includes Hearing Conservation Training.

How do I know if my employees need Hearing Conservation Training?

OSHA requires any employee who experiences noise exposures above 85 decibels, measured on the A-scale (dBA) for an 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA), to be enrolled in a Hearing Conservation Program. This level can be found in a wide range of industries.
