OSHA regulations require that only trained and authorized personnel operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts). A designated “competent person” must oversee training, operations, and evaluations to ensure compliance and safety on the job site.
Circle Safety & Health Consultants offers a comprehensive Forklift Competent Person Training course that equips supervisors, site managers, and safety officers with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage forklift operations safely and in line with OSHA standards.
This course is ideal for construction supervisors, warehouse managers, manufacturing leads, and anyone responsible for forklift operations.
Forklift accidents can cause serious injury or death. Training a competent person helps reduce the risk of workplace incidents involving powered industrial trucks.
Proper oversight of forklift operations helps reduce workers’ compensation claims, insurance costs, and potential OSHA fines.
Employers are required to ensure that forklift operations are conducted under the supervision of a competent person. Our training supports compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 and related standards.
Attendees will learn how OSHA’s forklift standards apply to their workplace and how to identify and address non-compliant conditions.
We’ll cover essential topics like load handling, safe driving techniques, pre-use inspections, and common hazards.
Attendees will receive high-quality reference materials designed to reinforce learning and serve as on-site resources after the course.
Our instructors are experienced safety professionals with practical knowledge of forklift operations and regulatory requirements.
Training course attendees will be able to identify three types of soil (Type A, Type B, and Type C) that will help prevent cave-ins and ensure a safer work environment.
We offer training at your job site or office, or you may send your workers to our dedicated Richmond, VA training facility.
Having a qualified Forklift Competent Person on-site ensures safer forklift operations, fewer incidents, and full compliance with OSHA regulations. Contact us below to get started.

The class will take around five hours to complete.
We provide OSHA 10-hour and OSHA 30-hour outreach safety training classes at our facility or yours.
Our Competent Person training courses will help increase job site safety and help achieve OSHA compliance.
OSHA recommends that at least one or more employees receive workplace First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
